Education & Academic Support
Tutoring, school re-engagement, GED preparation and college navigation so learning never stops when housing does.

HAVEN ROC supports adolescents and young adults experiencing housing instability by addressing the barriers that impact education, employment and long-term independence.
About HAVEN ROC
HAVEN is a youth-centered initiative designed to support adolescents and young adults experiencing housing instability by addressing the barriers that impact education, employment and long-term independence.

Every young person sets their own goals. We build the supports around them instead of asking them to fit a program.
Transportation, documents, technology, childcare and safety come before anything else — they decide whether school and work are possible.
Success is not a single placement. It is education, income, stability and relationships that hold years from now.
What we do
Coordinated services that meet immediate needs and build the skills, relationships and resources for lasting independence.

Tutoring, school re-engagement, GED preparation and college navigation so learning never stops when housing does.

Vocational training, certifications, résumé and interview coaching, and paid work experiences.

Referrals to safe housing, transportation help, clothing, food, hygiene supplies and essential documents.

Consistent, caring adults who walk alongside each young person as they build their own plan.

Trauma-informed groups, coping skills, and warm hand-offs to counseling and healthcare partners.

Budgeting, banking, credit building and savings incentives that make independence sustainable.

Founder & Executive Director, HAVEN ROC
"Young people are not defined by where they sleep tonight. When we remove the barriers in front of them — a ride, a document, a mentor, a certification — they build futures that hold. HAVEN exists to make sure no young person has to choose between survival and their own potential."
Projects & events
Programs, community events and fundraisers that turn support into measurable stability for local youth.

A 12-week vocational training and certification track pairing young adults with local employers and paid apprenticeships.

Volunteers assemble hygiene, school and winter kits distributed to youth living doubled-up, in shelters or in transition.

Our annual benefit funding emergency needs, transportation, technology and scholarships for youth in the program.
Success stories
Trusted by young people, employers, schools and partner agencies across the Rochester community.
“HAVEN helped me finish school while I was couch-surfing. My mentor showed up every single week — that consistency changed everything.”
Our team
A small, dedicated team of youth advocates, navigators and coordinators — with a growing network of volunteer mentors.
